Strawberry Yogurt Popsicles

We’re always looking for new popsicle recipes in the summer. I love having healthy options in the freezer so my kids can cool off and be entertained for a few minutes with one when they get hot or cranky. They are such easy ways to get fruit and hydration into them. But, kids aside, these delicious popsicles are a treat for anyone.

If you have lots of strawberries on hand, these are an especially good way to use them before they go bad.

I was curious if yogurt still has probiotics after it’s frozen like this. According to the interent, “Freezing doesn’t kill the probiotics, but it can put them into a dormant state. When the frozen yogurt thaws in your body, the probiotics wake up.” So there you go! These are good-for-your-gut popsicles.

Strawberry Yogurt Popsicles

Healthy and full of strawberry flavor!

Course: Dessert, Snack

Servings: 6 popsicles (depending on size)
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries
  • 12 oz (1.5 cups) non-dairy plain or vanilla yogurt (I used Silk almond milk yogurt)
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (more or less as needed, depending on how sweet strawberries are)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 TBSP lemon juice
  1. In a food processor (or blender if that's all you have), pulse all the ingredients together until there are no large strawberry chunks. Taste and add more sweetener if you feel it needs it.

  2. Pour into popsicle molds, leaving a little space at the top. Poke sticks in. Freeze until firm. Run hot water over the mold to release them.
