You Wouldn’t Guess What I Buy on Azure Standard

One of my number one ways to reduce overwhelm in cooking is to have a stocked pantry/kitchen. It is a JOB to keep it stocked, but buying in bulk makes it easier! Feeding five people three meals a day all by myself (pretty much!) is a lot if you have to buy every single thing for each meal each week. Keeping my kitchen stocked with the staples allows my grocery list to be much shorter each week and mostly in the fresh produce section. A stocked kitchen allows me to make things without necessarily planning for them in advance.

Here are some things I order:

All these bolded words are links you can click on to add to your cart.

aluminum-free baking powder

organic popcorn kernals (I love this popcorn so much!)

organic rolled oats

coconut sugar

dried elderberries

organic hard white wheat berries (I grind my own whole wheat flour for pancakes, bread, sourdough bread, etc)

whole wheat bread flour

coconut chips (this makes a delicious oatmeal topping or irrestible coconut bacon!)

cocoa powder (fair trade, organic)

Soy curls (super convenient, shelf-stable protein)

walnut pieces (SO handy having them pre-chopped!)

chopped dates (cheaper than whole dates and perfect when you’re going to blend up dates anyway)

whole dates (these are about the same price as Costco, which is about as cheap as they get)

cashews

chicken flavored broth (so much better than vegetable broth when you’re making something like a pot pie or noodle soup)

Lundberg farms brown basmati rice (this is the best rice because it’s the lowest in arsenic unlike Asia-grown rice)

date sugar (this doesn’t even count as an added sugar in my opinion, it’s just dried and ground dates!)

apple juice-sweetened dried cranberries

dried apricots sulfur-free (these are a bit of splurge but wow are they the most flavorful and candy-like dried apricots I’ve ever had! The perfect packed-lunch treat.)

mushroom powder (I am obsessed with making this Mushroom Hot Cocoa!)

dry black beans

dry pinto beans

dry brown lentils

dry red lentils

dry white beans

Non-food Items

dishwasher detergent (I love this stuff! So hard to find “clean” dishwasher detergent that works! But this is it.)

hand soap

toilet cleaner

glass cleaner(no fumes and is actually streak-free)
